Yong Morelli (Nam), 60, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away embraced by family, on October 21, 2019 after an 8 month battle with stomach cancer.
Yong met her husband, David Morelli, in February 1986 when he was stationed by the United States Air Force in South Korea. They married in South Korea on August 22, 1986 and moved to the United States in February 1987. Yong spent most of her career as an anesthesia technician at Waterbury Hospital, retiring in 2013. Yong was well known for her excellent cooking. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Yong is survived by her husband of 33 years, David Morelli, their children, Mina Morelli, Gina Soto, and Louis Morelli, her sons-in-law, Danny Morales and Michael Soto, her grand children, Kailan, Amelia, and Liang, her four siblings, their spouses and their children still residing in South Korea. She was predeceased by both her parents.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Saint Mary’s Hospital from O’Brien 7 and Vitas for providing Yong with excellent care and support during her final weeks.
No services are currently arranged and will be disclosed by the family at their discretion.
So sorry to learn of Yong’s passing. Will always remember the kindnesses she showed me when I worked at Waterbury Hospital. She was a fun loving person with a kind heart. Thank you for everything Yong. May you Rest In Peace❤️🙏
