During the early morning hours of December 5, 2024, the mental illness and addiction that had stolen Todd Timothy Turcotte away from those who loved him, ultimately took his life. Todd Turcotte is not defined by his struggle with addiction, but by the beautiful and everlasting impact he had on those around him. At last, he is at peace.
He is predeceased by his brother Michael Ritchie, his father Donald Turcotte, and other distant relatives and friends. Todd, a loving father and pépé, leaves behind four biological children: Chelsea Turcotte, Kaley Turcotte, Madison Turcotte, Gage Turcotte; three step-children: Derrek Denomme, Kelsey Keel, Kian Rolfe; and three grand-children: Faith Kalin, Jayvia Anderson, and Romann Anderson. He leaves behind his brother, Daniel Turcotte, a sister, Kimberly Stefanik, his nieces, and his beloved dog Jackson as well.
Todd Timothy Turcotte was born on March 24th, 1965, in Norwich, Connecticut to Donald Turcotte and Cynthia Arnott. He spent most of his upbringing in Jewett City and much of his adult life in Moosup and Norwich.
Like his father, Todd started his own roofing company as a teenager and worked as a talented carpenter in Eastern Connecticut. Todd, known for his lively and down-to-earth personality, enjoyed singing country music, riding motorcycles, and watching football. He was a devout follower of Christ and loved nature, animals, and writing. His children will cherish the memories they made together in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers, Todd’s family asks for donations to Kitty Harbor at https://www.kittyharbor.org/donate/ and CCAR Windham Recovery Community Center at https://ccar.us/donate/. His family also asks that you understand the devastating effects of addiction. His death was not in vain, instead, it serves as a testament that mental illness and addiction should not be met with shame by an unforgiving society, but with compassion and professional help.
In memory of Todd, have a big heart. Till we all meet again, osteoporosis!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (NIV, John 3:16).
