Shawn Gregory Vary, 58, of Taftville, CT, passed away in the
early morning hours of November 15, 2024, in his home after an
extended illness. A memorial service to celebrate Shawn’s life
will held at 9:00 a.m. on December 14, 2024, at the Norwich
Worship Center, 165 Lawler Lane, Norwich CT 06360.
His family includes three children, son Bryon, son Dylon, and
daughter Shayla, four grandchildren Liam, Miya, Logan,
Savannah. Four brothers Michael (FL), Jeffery (CT), Kevin
(CT), and Craig (NY) and he enjoyed being around them as
much as possible and sharing his love for them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father Carroll, mother
Elaine, and brother Blaine.
Shawn was born August 5, 1966, in Groton CT at the Naval
Hospital and his family lived in Colchester CT. He went through
the Colchester School system and graduated from Bacon
Academy in Colchester in 1985. Shawn was working for
Norwich public works Mohegan Park Rose Garden until he
became ill. Shawn was a loving and devoted father, friend,
brother, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his wit, his
roaring laughter, his high spirit which inspired many of those
who knew him. Even though he experienced many hardship and
struggles he would share his love for GOD, Christ Jesus, and the
Holy Spirit and was always ready to share all the blessings that
he received.
