Randall M. Marek, 70, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2025. He was diagnosed either ALS (Lou Gehrig disease) over a year ago.
Randy was one of a kind. People who knew Randy loved him. He was a caring, thoughtful, and giving man. His co-workers knew him as ‘crazy Randy’. Throughout his disease he still managed to keep his sense of humor. Randy was a hard worker doing what he loved, construction. He worked for Manafort Brothers as an operator with Foxwoods Casino being one of his biggest jobs. He was a union member for Local 478 for 39 years until he retired in 2019.
Randy is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Kristen Cassile, her children, Brittany and Kyle, and daughter Tara Marek in addition to his stepchildren, Jessica Bonadies and husband Robert and Kevin LaPoint and wife Allison. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Everett, brother Brian Marek, and many nieces and nephews.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Josephine Marek as well as his brothers, Frank Jr. and Robert.
Randy’s wife and daughter would like to thank Hartford Healthcare hospice team of nurses as well as the staff at ALS United who have all been amazing.

Donna & family, our deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband, father, father in law, grandfather, uncle, brother, etc. ALS is a very tough illness that attacks the body, but take comfort that he is no longer sick!
Rest in Peace, you wild, crazy, fun and loving man. Anyone who met you could never forget you , and I'm sure they left with a story to tell! Will always remember you, Randy. All my love, Jennifer
