Patricia Claire (Devine) Sweeney, 74, of South Windsor Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in New Britain, CT. Born in Birmingham England to Daniel and Edith (Brittain) Devine, Pat attended Canterbury Cross Girls School and Kingsbury College. In 1964, Pat moved to the United States with life long friend Rhona Vandernoth, with whom she shared many wonderful childhood and family memories with.

She ran a successful catering business before retiring to Bradenton Florida and Coventry Connecticut. Pat loved being with her seven grandchildren, Gregory LeBlanc and his wife Emma, Ian Crombie, Camille Hoheb, Edith Sweeney, Christian Hoheb, Rebecca Sweeney, Mallory Crombie and Great Grandson Felix LeBlanc. They share many wonderful memories of Grandma at the lake in Coventry and trips to Florida. Pat also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends in England.
To celebrate this beautiful life, the family suggests participation in organ donation programs or a donation to the Coventry Scholarship Foundation Dollars for Scholars in memory of Rebecca Margaret Hoffman, 78 Ripley Hill Road, Coventry, CT, 06238. Rebecca was a special young friend of Pat’s who passed away too soon but has always held a special place in Pat’s heart.
George and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss (I just heard today in one of my infrequent FB visits). Although it’s been too many years, I remember visiting when Julie and Judy were quite young, remember Peter as Capt. on the CT River. Miss her smile and laughter....many fond memories. My thoughts are with you all. Mike Hains
Dear Sweeney family, we are heartsick at the loss of Pat. She was the best of friends to us and was there for our girls through some hard times. We have so many happy memories of times spent with you all. Stay strong for each other, we love you. Lynda & Everett.
