Patricia Ann Baron 2022

Patricia Ann Baron, age 88, passed away tranquilly February 8, 2022.

Upon receiving an esophageal cancer diagnosis in August 2021, she decided not to undergo any treatment and instead chose to bravely die living rather than spend her remaining time suffering from cancer treatments. She spent her last five months living with family, visiting the casino and laying on the beaches in the Dominican Republic surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired GS 11 Department of Defense Jewel Bearing Inspector. In her early years she taught catechism and ceramics. Her more recent hobbies included crocheting and planting. She loved to read and conduct research and in retirement she worked avidly tracing our genealogy and building our family tree. She had a love for and raised many Boston Terriers and her last dog Bleu was her loyal companion for the past 14 years.

Pat was the last surviving child and daughter of John Keegan and Mae McCarthy.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Andy Baron and was a loving and devoted mother to their six children. She was predeceased by her sons Thomas, John and James. Survived by her sons and daughter Robert, Mark and Janet. Blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughter in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. The birth of her grandchildren spans from 1976 – 2001. She loved and played an active role in the upbringing of each of them. She was dearly loved by all those who knew her. May she now be at peace in heaven with God.

Services to be held at Arlington National Cemetery when permissible.

Mom it was an honor to help care for you over the years and a blessing to have you move in after your diagnosis. The last 5 months of your life we lived large, laughed often and loved much. I am so thankful for the strength, wisdom and courage you have instilled in me. But most of all I cherish the relationship you forged with my children and the fingerprint you left on them helping shape who they are. For that I am forever grateful.

Love,

Your only daughter
