Marcia A. Foulds

In Loving Memory of Marcia A. Foulds (June 7, 1946 - November 7, 2023)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marcia A. Foulds on November 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 7, 1946, in Stamford, CT, Marcia was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter.

Marcia is survived by her devoted children, Alison Maturo (Eric Maturo), David Burtraw (Angela Burtraw), and Jennifer Aguzzi (Donald Aguzzi, Jr.). She was a loving grandmother to Scott Primavera, Riley Maturo, Samuel Burtraw, Elliana Burtraw, Lena Aguzzi, and Alissa Aguzzi. Marcia is also remembered by her brother, John Foulds, and she was the beloved daughter of Edward and Gladys Foulds.

Marcia graduated from Darien High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Connecticut. She dedicated the early years of her career as a social worker in New Haven before choosing to become a full-time mother during her children's formative years.

Later in life, Marcia returned to the workforce, bringing her passion for literature and music to the role of Children’s Librarian at the Guilford Public Library. Her commitment to making a positive impact extended to her work as an administrative assistant at various organizations, including the Albert Schweitzer Institute for the Humanities, the North Haven Congregational Church, and St. Stephen’s Church and School in Hamden.

Marcia was not only known for her professional accomplishments but also for her love of reading, her culinary skills, and her devotion to family. Her warm presence and caring nature touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life in honor of Marcia A. Foulds that will be held on Saturday, December 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the North Haven Congregational Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Stella’s Wish Foundation, a cause close to Marcia's heart. Contributions can be made at Stella’s Wish Foundation.

Marcia will be dearly missed, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
