Lori A. Willems (Murray/Taylor)
August 1967 – August 2022
Montville, CT / Goodland KS – Lori, born 55 years ago, passed away after a two-year battle with cancer on August 12, 2022.
Lori is with Jesus, with restored health, and is watching over her family: daughters Rachel (and husband Aaron) and Tiffany, son Ryan, and husband Kyle. She also leaves her mother Joanne, father Fred, sister Heidi (husband Buddy and nephew Matthew), brother Keith, many aunts, uncles, and cousins including aunt Sandy and uncle Joe M, and her many BFFs in Connecticut, Kansas, and Florida which include her soul-sisters Ellen, Sabrina, Betsy, Bonnie, and Laura. Lori is predeceased by her aunt “Cookie” and her grandparents.
Lori grew up in Westerly, RI and Montville, CT, and spent her last 10 years in KS.
Lori loved going to the beaches on the east coast and visiting the beautiful Colorado Rockies while out west. She loved taking photographs, hanging out with friends, church activities, cooking/baking from scratch, horses, cats, attending concerts (Duran Duran, Keith Urban, and Rufus Du Sol being her favorites), taking more photographs, and collecting memories.
Lori was creative and a talented artist who saw the beauty in everything and everyone. She had an endearing childlike spirit, a kind soul, and was the sweetest person you could ever meet. She had just the right amount of quirkiness, did things in her own time, took photos of everything, and she could always turn a random day into a fun adventure.
Lori had the type of friendly bubbly personality where she could chat with a stranger and by the end of the conversation you’d think they had known each other for years. Her connections to her friends and family were one of the most important things in her life and the people she loved were always on her mind and in her heart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 10th at 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel, 126 Sharp Hill Road, Uncasville, CT. All are welcome. The service will also be live-streamed. A lunch reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
