Linda Lucy Middleton 1951-2022

Linda Lucy Middleton, 70 years young, of Clinton, Connecticut passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022. Best known by all of her friends as “Lulu”. She was born on May 28, 1951, in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Cammilletti) Chatfield and Morris Chatfield of Waterbury. Lulu married the love of her life, David W. Middleton, in 1982. David knew the moment he met Linda that she was his soulmate. When he saw her beautiful smile and looked into her bright blue eyes, he knew that she was the one God had chosen for him. They enjoyed 41years together raising their family, savoring each other’s company and sharing their faith with everyone they met.

Lulu proudly worked for Clinton Public Schools for over 24 years as the Secretary to the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. The warmth of her friendly personality touched everyone she came in contact with. She was well known in her community especially for her uplifting, tenderhearted and ever so familiar voice. You could always feel her radiating smile on the other end of the phone.

Lulu was a Pastor at Shoreline Church in Old Lyme. She loved children and spent weekends teaching Sunday school in church for over 30 years. She impacted the lives of many people and helped to shape their relationship with God, which was her true passion. She was a woman of great faith who truly operated in the love of Christ.

Linda always made time for everyone she met. She would spend countless hours encouraging others. Lulu had a heart of gold, eager to help anyone in need. Her warm and loving smile made everyone feel welcomed. Her perfect day would be spent catching up on the phone with all of her family and friends, playing with her grandchildren and spending time with God. She left behind a legacy of love. Now it’s up to her family and friends who were touched by Lulu to continue to carry on this love and help others.

Linda is survived by her husband, David W. Middleton; her daughter Melissa Diaz and husband Keith and their children, Emma and Noah (East Brunswick, New Jersey); her daughter Stacie O’Brien and husband Jeffrey and their two sons, Carter and Grayson (Killingworth); her son David J.
