Lee Harrington 1944-2022

Lee Harrington, 77 of Windham died on February 09, 2022 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Lee was born on May 3, 1944. Predeceased by his father, Daniel Harrington and mother, Avis (French) Harrington.
He is survived by his partner, Bonnie Pelletier, three daughters: Charlene Harrington, Jacqueline Harrington, and Jennifer and her husband Daniel Deptula, Lee’s grandsons Nicholas and Matthew Kyparidis, his sister Mary Jane and her husband Walter Gamache, his brother Thomas Harrington and his wife, Nancy, his Uncle Patrick Harrington and his wife Janet and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lee attended Windham High School, class of 1962. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1962, served in the Vietnam era and the Cuban Crisis. He rose to the rank of Sergeant. After coming back to Willimantic, he was employed at UPS for 40 years until retirement. He put in a lot of effort into advocating for the rights of drivers and employees.
Lee was a fine athlete, particularly in baseball, softball, and bowling. In the Marine Corps, he played short stop while serving in Okinawa, Japan. A longtime member of Willi Mac, he covered left field from short stop like no other. He was later inducted in the Willi Mac Hall of Fame.
Lee was a dependable and dedicated member of the American Legion in Willimantic. He volunteered much of his time mowing, plowing, and supporting the club. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the American Legion playing cards, pool and serving as an officer.
Lee will be missed by his family, friends, and fellow Legionnaires.
Per Lee’s request, there will be no services.
