In the early morning of Friday, January 22, 2021, Keith Alban Naswell, the loving husband of June Margaret Naswell, father of Patrick (Kerece) Naswell, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 under hospice care in Branford, Connecticut. After a nearly two-month battle with the symptoms and affects of COVID-19, he is now with God and the loving family members who preceded him including his mother Carmen, Aunts Annella, Valentine, and Dorothy Naswell, Cousin Umilta, sister Patsy. Known for his booming laugh and his openness and loving nature, Keith lives in the memories and prayers of many family and close friends including his sister Bernadine Byer and family, brothers Bennett and James, in-laws Sharon Gulston, Cynthia and Agatha Webster, and Anthony Hector, nieces and nephews, lifelong friends Henry and Molly Powell and family, Yvonne Mendez and family, and many others.
Keith, a resident of Fairfield for more than 45 years, was born in San Fernando, Trinidad, West Indies on June 22, 1943 during World War II and emigrated to the United States in his early twenties to make a better life for himself. In America, he met June, the love of his life, on a blind date in New York City having been introduced by mutual friends from Trinidad who had also recently emigrated. Keith and June marked their 51st wedding anniversary on December 13, 2020. Keith was a loving husband and father, and a truly independent spirit, who provided daily support to his wife over the last several years, supported his son through college and graduate school and fell in love all over again when he met his grandson, Lennox. He worked for many years as a Computer Programs Analyst and in other positions for GE Capital and, later IBM.
Keith attended Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd, Fairfield, CT 06825. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in memory of Keith to Holy Family. There will be no in-person service for Keith due to COVID-19 concerns, but the family plans to host a memorial in the coming weeks.
Just found this out after seeing the house under change. I am so sad to hear this, I and Tom Jackson worked and were mentors to Kieth at GE Capital. Living a couple of blocks away I would chat with him on daily walks with my dog. Kieth was a real gentleman, and I will miss seeing him. My condolences to June. I would like to be at any services at Holy Family church. Richard Haux , 203-333-2946. rbhaux@gmail.com
