Kathy, a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandma, and aunt passed away on her birthday, April 13, 2025, at the age of 78, in the comfort of her home with her daughter and son by her side, just as she had always been at their sides.
She was Born on April 13, 1947 in Burgettstown, PA. Kathy graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1965 and worked as a secretary for Lawyers Title Insurance Company in downtown Pittsburgh before becoming a stay at home mom. After her children went to school she worked part time at Rite Aid before spending the next 30 years as a Castle Shannon Borough crossing guard. She was loved as a crossing guard for her sweet disposition and kindness. She retired in 2021. Kathy was known for her unwavering love, kindness, and her cooking skills. Kathy was an animal lover and could never turn away a pet Andrea had found that was in need of a loving home. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralston, her parents Chester and Stella Stanish, and her granddaughter Ella Katherine Harris. She is survived by her loving family, including her children Andrea (Garry) Harris and David Ralston; grandchildren Jake and Nick; her sister Marion Burkey, her sister-in-law Phyllis Williamson and her niece and 3 nephews and their spouses and children. She is also survived by her loving pet dog, Holly, who gave her so much joy and companionship in her last years.
Interment will be private per Kathy’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mayo Clinic cancer research and care.
