Josephine Benson 1932-2021

Josephine Benson, of Glastonbury, passed away on October 30, 2021.


She was born to Robert and Emma (Rampellini) Luchina of South Windsor on March 24, 1932. Jo grew up in South Windsor and graduated from South Windsor High School. Left to honor and cherish her memory are nieces Lynn Zettlemoyer and husband Carlton of South Glastonbury, Kimberly Lockwood and husband Scott of Glastonbury, nephews Robert Fowler and wife Thomasine of Palmer, MA and William Fowler and wife Marzena of Stafford Springs. Jo was warm, kind, genuine, and open minded to all people. She was a giving person and extremely charitable to others throughout her life. She loved the arts, classic movies, and music. She was a bright business woman who traveled to fascinating destinations. Jo was a UConn Women’s Huskies super fan – she was passionate about the team. Her mind was curious and she would forever explore through books and documentaries to learn about history, people’s lives, and life experiences. One of Jo's greatest passions was her love for cats, dogs and all wildlife. Jo wished for a peaceful burial surrounded by family.


Her life will be celebrated at a private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jo's honor to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St., Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118 - https://poainc.org/donate/
