Joanne Palmisano 81, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Joanne was born in Pennsylvania to Herbert R. and Mae L. Kauke. She raised her family in Plainville, CT before moving to Bristol 40 years ago. She worked at Nuchies Restaurant and Legends for many years. After retirement she spent her time going out to eat with friends and going to the casino. In her last years she looked forward to spending her Friday afternoons visiting with her sister Barbara.
Joanne was predeceased by her husband Stephen Palmisano; her son Brian Tetro and her grandson Billy Jo. She leaves behind her children Carrie DonAroma and son-in-law Frank of Bristol; Gary Tetro and daughter-in-law Debi of Plainville; and a son Keith Tetro of Bristol. Grandchildren Christina Derench of Bristol; Jennifer Mahaney and her husband David of Bristol; Melissa Gwizd and her husband John of Thomaston; Nicholas Tetro and his wife Chantal of Bristol and Cody Tetro of Berlin. Great grandchildren Ayden, Samuel, Cameron, Gemma, Zachary, Jayden, Destiny, Tanner, Ryder and Carter. She also leaves a brother Herbert Kauke and sister-in-law Rosemary of Bristol; a brother Steven Kauke of Florida; a sister Barbara Kauke of Plainville and her sister Doreen Seneschal and brother-in-law Rick of Southington along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Bristol and St. Francis Hospitals, nurse Katie and the Bristol Hospice staff as well as Cara Gooding, a special person in our lives.
A celebration of life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church on Saturday April 1, 2023 at 11:00a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asbury United Methodist Church to benefit the Carillon Legacy Project or the American Cancer Society.
