Hildegarde Hinterberger Orr-Homazad

Hildegarde Hinterberger Orr-Homazad dead at 89

It’s with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Hildegarde. Born on March 17, 1935, she was the daughter of of the late John Hinterberger and Hildegarde Hoelzel Hinterberger. Raised in New Haven and North Haven she was a 1953 graduate of Hamden high school. She worked for SNET or several years after high school. She later enjoyed a long career with St. Raphael’s Hospital , starting out taking ER charts on weekends, various secretarial jobs and then as a nurse. She eventually retired as mental health resource coordinator after over 40 years of service.

With her second husband she found the love of her life. They shared many interests such as

camping, gardening and painting to name a few. They had travelled across both the U.S. and

Canada at least twice in addition to many other vacations.

Hildegarde, or Hildie to friends and relatives had a very friendly, outgoing personality and was always upbeat with a positive attitude and a smile for all whom she came into contact with. A true humanitarian she truly cared about people. Mom instilled in my sister and I to put ourselves second and always think of others first. She lived by that her entire life. It’s because of these qualities and many more that she is deeply missed by those of us left

behind to mourn her loss.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, her former husband Lionel Orr in addition to many friends and relatives.

Surviving are her son Robert and his wife Beverly of Jacksonville Florida. Daughter Cindy

Reagan of Wareham, Ma. and two grandsons, Christopher Reagan and Matthew Reagan

of the Boston area. She also leaves her brother, John Hinterberger and 3 nieces in Seattle.

There will be a celebration of her life in Stuart, Florida on March 17, 2025 on what would have been her 90th birthday. Also a smaller event in Massachusetts at another time, yet to be determined. Further details will be announced.
