Hanani “Nicky” Colón Mercado has passed peacefully at home on January 26, 2025 surrounded and supported with his family by his side. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was always a provider and a hard working man. He had a heart full of kindness and always cared for his family. He always put the needs of his family before his own. He kept his loved ones close to his heart. His love, gentle spirit, wisdom and sense of humor will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Nicky is survived by his wife, Janneth Colon; children Jessica, Joshua, Jonathan, Michael, Jennifer, Richard; his grandchildren Samie, Khaleesi and Naylin; his siblings Tito, Samuel, and Matilde; and his nephews, nieces and cousins.
Nicky’s presence will greatly be missed. His passion for food and cooking will be missed in the kitchen. He was a man of few words; when he spoke, you listened. To know him was to love him. He may have passed on, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts.
I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
Nicky was quiet but his heart was kind. If you asked him to cook you anything he would. He was so very busy,working and taking care of all of you.
I'm glad I knew him a bit. A truly nice person.
I'm at a loss to write more,but you all are forever on my mind.
