Gail M Scacca

Gail M Scacca, 63 passed away peacefully in her home on February 20, 2025; surrounded by family, friends and her two beloved dogs Archer and Storm. Originally from Wethersfield and having spent a large portion of her life in South Windsor, she had more recently settled into her home in Broad Brook. She loved the town for its peaceful feeling, the sounds from the farms, as well as the various critters that visited her yard- Archer's favorite of course being the rabbits much to her chagrin.

Gail was fifth of six children born to Anthony and Mary Scacca of Wethersfield. She had a natural affinity when it came to music, first studying the violin and then becoming a self taught drummer. Tenacious, hardworking and determined, she graduated from Wethersfield high early to go on to work in the field of insurance which she continued to work in for most of her life, taking a small break to raise her two children in the early 90s, before returning to work at The Hartford Insurance company as a Business Analyst.

Besides her passion for music, she was also an avid animal lover. She was the proud owner of several rescue dogs and donated to charitable organizations for the wellbeing and benefit of them. She was very giving but also very humble. She never did a good deed for the bragging rights and she gave more than most people were aware of. She knew what it felt like to go without and wanted to pay it forward to those who were in need.

She is survived by her son Philip Scacca. Her daughter and son-in-law Heather and Adam Chapasko. Her three brothers and two sisters as well as eleven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her nieces Victoria Scacca and Melissa Palmeri.

Gail did not want a somber ceremony to mark her passage, but instead wanted a celebration of life. For her life is one that does not end with a period, but with an exclamation point. The celebration is sure to be a manifestation of the things she was best known for- her love of music and the fact that if you visited her home you would never leave hungry. In the spring all those who loved her will be gathered together for one big hurrah in her honor.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to an animal shelter. Save all dogs rescue of Manchester or Protectors of Animals of Rocky Hill.
