Erik Alan May, 43, of New London, passed away suddenly at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
He was born November 3, 1977 to Ronald and Sheila May. He is predeceased by both parents. Erik is survived by his loving wife, Amy May (McNeely), their two sons Hunter (4) and Landon (2) of New London. He is also survived by sisters Leah (William) Myers, and Sherry May, both of Terre Haute, Indiana, and brother David May of Middletown Connecticut. Erik leaves behind 3 nephews; Shawn and Brandon Arline, and Anthony Sawicki Jr. 4 nieces; Beth (Tannim) Woodall, Hannah, Haylee and Sophia Sawicki. As well as extended family, coworkers and friends. Erik graduated from Grasso Tech in 1995 for drafting. He worked for Copy Cats Inc. in New London as a Bindery for many years before becoming a stay at home dad. He also worked at the Waterford Stop and Shop for close to 20 years, on the frontend as a supervisor. Erik loved cars, especially Mustangs, and was a member of the Southern Connecticut Mustang Club for many years. Erik also really enjoyed photography, capturing the special moments, especially weddings, which were his favorite. Above all Erik loved his family and friends.His boys Hunter and Landon were the light of his life.
A Catholic mass of remembrance will be held Friday November 19th 2021 at 11am at St. Matthias Catholic Church 317 Chesterfield Road, East Lyme, CT. A Celebration of Life is scheduled Saturday November 20th 2021 9am to 1230pm at Waterford VFW 382 Boston Post Rd, Waterford, CT 06385
