Debra Macfarlane

Debra Macfarlane passed peacefully in her home on the morning of June 3rd, 2023. Debra is survived by her two daughters, Sarah and Dana, her sister Patricia and Brother-In-Law Ed, her brother Frank and Sister-in-Law Renee, and her brother Bob. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and friends that became family. She has joined her predeceased mother Helen, father Konstanty, sister Jean, brother Eugene, and beloved dogs Teddy and Bonnie.

Debbie graduated South Windsor High School and attended Hartford Women’s College and Capital Community College, realizing her passion of becoming a Nurse. Through her nursing career she was able to travel up and down the East Coast, living in many cities and fulfilling her desire to travel throughout the U.S. While her goal of going to the West Coast was never realized, she settled back in Connecticut during her final years, working at Hartford Hospital.

Debbie enjoyed watercolor painting and cooking. Debbie also loved being with family. She often reflected on memories made throughout her life with her siblings, friends, nieces, and nephews. She loved hosting family gatherings, specifically Christmas Eve parties, which are still reflected on fondly.

No funeral services are planned. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cancer society of your choice, watch the Food Network, visit the casino, and make an ice-cold cosmopolitan in her memory.

The family would like to thank Amanda, Karen, Taylor, and the rest of Debbie’s hospice team for treating her with kindness and compassion during her last months.

So saddened in the loss of a sweet travel friend. We met in Connecticut. She was kind and so good at what she did as a nurse. I took care of Teddy for her for a short while while she recovered. Peace be with you my friend and to your family at this time.
