David “Sonny” Doyle, of South Windsor, Connecticut, passed away June 9, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in Old Lyme, Connecticut at the age of 77. David was born January 26, 1945 in Portland, Maine to Ella Mitchell and David Doyle. He was a Passamaquoddy tribe member and spent his childhood on the Pleasant Point Reservation (Perry, ME) before moving to Connecticut.
In 1963, David married Jacqualine Fontaine in East Hartford, Connecticut and went on to become the proud father to daughter Donna and four sons David, Michael, Todd, and Lance. He was a loving grandfather to Dakota, Easton, DJ, Joey, Tommy, Dylan, Devin, Nicole, Alyssa, and Ava. He is survived by his wife Jackie, sisters Ethel, Carrie, and Freda, brother Tom, and many loved friends and family. He was predeceased by sister Sharon and brother Rick.
David enjoyed spending his time in nature, walking his dogs, and expressing his creativity through painting and woodworking. Most of all, David was a storyteller at heart that always knew how to light up a room with his jokes and bright energy. He will be dearly missed.
