Catherine Shaver, better known as Cathy, passed on September 19 in Avon, CT. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Pryzby, her grandsons Benjamin and Jonathan Pryzby, her siblings Lewis Snizik and his wife Pat, Peggy Cotrell, and Jolan Deeley and her husband Bill, and Cheryl’s fiancée David Reed. At the time of her passing, she was in the care of the kind and loving staff of Apple Rehab of Avon.
During the course of her life, Cathy lived in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Ohio before moving to Connecticut in 2014. She was an administrative assistant for most of her adult life, and worked in the manufacturing, market research, hospital, and legal fields. She loved day-trips to the beach, needlework of many kinds, to travel, and to entertain. She is fondly remembered for her strength and resilience, her tenaciousness in the face of adversity, and her vibrant smile.
