Catherine (Cathy) Sonstrom (Donovan) of Bristol, passed away on December 9th at the age of 63. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she is the daughter of the late Cornelius Donovan and Frances Harvey.
She is survived by the love of her life, husband Timothy Sonstrom of 33 years, daughter Kimberly Leone and Mike Leone, daughter Cheryl Sonstrom of Weed, CA, sister Karen Donovan of Plainville, brother Tom Donovan of South Windsor, brother Walter Harvey, special niece Suzy Martineau of Vernon, two grandsons her “little angels” close to her heart, as well as other nieces and nephews.
Cathy worked for the Board of Education in East Hartford as a paraprofessional, and truly enjoyed watching the little preschoolers learn and grow. She then worked at Bickfords Restaurant in Southington where she was more like family to her co-workers.
Cathy loved to watch fireworks, she and her husband would travel great distance just to see them. She liked going to the Big E, collecting frogs, and relaxing to her favorite TV shows. Cathy also had a special love for her dogs.
The funeral is a private service to be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Bristol.
