Caroline “Gilmay” (Roy) Michaud of Bristol, CT passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023. Gilmay was born in Fort Kent, ME in July 22, 1937. She worked at Birds Eye in Caribou, ME before moving to Plainville, CT in 1960. She had a lengthy career with D&R Templement and Home Health Care Services. Gilmay loved arts and crafts, as well as, camping. She always had some sort of household project going on. She made meals fit for royalty. Gilmay made sure no one went hungry. After raising her beloved daughters in Southington, CT with her then husband Bertin Michaud, she retired and relocated to Pace, FL on the Gulf Coast for 11 years before returning to Bristol, CT. Gilmay became a resident at Countryside Manor due to a long battle with an illness. Preceding her in death was her father; Leo Roy, mother; Lucienne (Brule’) Roy, brothers; Llewellyn and Carl Roy, sisters; Shirley Lavoie, Nancy Roy and Rena St. Pierre, daughter; Barbra “Barby” Edmonds, grandsons; Christopher Peters and Steven Rovillo. Survivors include her daughter Diane Peters and her partner Robert Grimes. Brothers; Carroll, Roger, Lionel, Clayton Roy and partner Donna Bernier, Denton Roy and partner Colleen Smith. Sisters; Judy and spouse Larry Desena, Robertine Finnemore, Pauline and spouse Milton Martin and Rachel Pelletier. Grandchildren; Jamie Peters and spouse Jason Altmannsberger, Jessica Michaud, Cary and Michael Peters, Robert and spouse Paula Hernandez. Great Grandchildren; Christopher Altmannsberger, Cassidy Peters, Alexia Woolley, Kelsey Brennan, Ashley and Nicolas Michaud, Kayden Burgos and Matthew Amenta. Great Great Grandchildren; Kemani Suggs and Madelyn, as well as, all of her special in-laws, nephews and nieces. A service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 95 Flanders Street, Southington, CT on June 9, 2023 at 11. In lieu of flowers make a donation to your local food bank. Abbey Cremation Services, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT is in charge of arrangements.
