Carl Robert Doty Jr. passed away peacefully on November 7, 2022 at his home in Watertown, Connecticut, surrounded by his wife and son. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on July 2, 1959 to Carl Doty Sr. and Penelope (Tuttle) Doty. He will be deeply missed by his wife Donna Grandell Doty, his son Michael and his partner David Delarosa of Houston, Texas, brother John Doty and his wife Lisa of Plantsville, Connecticut sister Darlene Doty and her partner Rob Weinstein of Watertown, brother Robert Doty of Harwinton, brother-in-law Robert Grandell and his wife Doreen of Rocky Hill, brother-in-law Richard Grandell and his wife Paula of Wolcott and his mother and father-in-law George and Virginia Grandell of Middlebury.
Carl was a beloved Uncle and leaves behind nieces and nephews, John, Tina, Carley, Nicole, Steven, Nicholas, Jason, Christopher, Mackenzie, Brittany, Ashley, Alexus, Emily, Megan and Dale
Carl is predeceased by his father Carl Doty Sr, his mother Penelope Doty and his sister Tammy Pillis.
Carl was raised in Watertown Connecticut where he attended local schools. He learned the importance of a strong work ethic and delivered that value throughout his life. He most notably worked as the bar manager at Daveluy’s Restaurant, production manager at Coat’s North America and armed security officer at the FBI building in New Haven. Carl’s passions included golf, woodworking, motorcycles, Chevy trucks and politics. He spent much of his time outside reading and spending time with his adoring dog Beau.
Honoring Carl’s wishes, there will be no public services. Memorial donations can be made in his name to The Wounded Warrior Project.
