Bruce A. Harrison, 58, passed away at his home on July 28, 2024 surrounded by his devoted family. Bruce was born in Trenton NJ on April 6, 1966 and grew up in nearby Bordentown.
After high school, he joined the United States Navy and became a United States Navy SEAL. Bruce earned a bachelor's degree in business with a minor in psychology from Clemson University in South Carolina. After his military service, he moved to San Diego CA and was a Pro Beach Volleyball player for four years. Moving back to the east coast, he settled in Connecticut, becoming a devoted husband and loving father.
Bruce was an extremely talented artist, creating all kinds of stone engraving and wood sculptures. Bruce loved being outdoors... sculpting, gardening, camping, playing volleyball, and snowboarding. Bruce was a Boy's Brigade leader for the grade school youth at his church and he loved teaching his sons beach volleyball skills and watching them in their tournaments .
Bruce leaves behind his wife, Carol, of 28 years, his two sons Gregory and Jacob, and his brothers, William White and Albert Harrison.
Calling hours will be from 5-7pm on August 21st and the funeral services will be held at 11am on August 22nd. Both will be held at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center via Hartford Healthcare.org / tribute gifts / designation.
