Andre H. Doyon

Andre H. Doyon, 66, beloved husband of Carla Doyon, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. In his final days, Andre was surrounded by his loving family.

Andre was born in Weedon, Quebec, Canada on August 12, 1958 to Roland and Claire (Rousseau) Doyon. He moved to Meriden, CT with his family in 1970. He graduated from Orville H. Platt High School in the Class of 1976.

Andre will be remembered for many things. By his coworkers and employers at A. Secondino and Sons, Inc., he will be remembered as a dedicated, hardworking, and skilled carpenter. By his teammates on his high school hockey team, he will be remembered as a driven, focused leader and captain. By his players on the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack Squirt Major U10 Hockey Team, he will be remembered as a committed, compassionate coach who pushed them all to be their best. By his family and friends, he will be remembered for his big heart and his ability to light up a room with his smile and his laugh.

Andre lived his life with an unmatched love for animals. He was known for picking up a guitar to play and sing with whoever would join in. In the winter, there was nothing more comforting to him than sitting by a wood-burning stove to keep warm. He was also quite skilled in the kitchen, especially when it came to his homemade Canadian meat pies. Andre and his wife spent their lives together in their beautiful log cabin in Berlin, CT that he built from the ground up.

Along with his loving wife Carla, Andre is survived by his daughter Melanie Klages (Robert), and sons, Andre M. Doyon (Elissa) and James R. Slie, grandchildren, Kaleb R. Bradshaw, Andre M. Doyon, and Ella Doyon, sisters, Line House (Stephen) and Francine Doyon, brothers Mario Doyon (Lisa) and Allan Doyon (Nancy), nephews, Joshua (Chelsea), Jared, Johnathan, and Jacob, nieces, Marisa, Kallan (God-daughter), and Kendra, his mother-in-law and sidekick, Charlotte Caswell, in-laws, Kurt and Kim Caswell and Hannah, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his loyal K9 companion, Kaia, who never left his side. Andre is predeceased by his parents, Roland and Claire, and his son, Daniel Doyon.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for all friends, family, and loved ones to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers or other memorial offerings, donations can be made in his memory to his Hartford Jr. Wolfpack Squirt Major U10 Hockey Team. Checks can be sent to HJWP Champions Skating Center, 6 Progress Dr., Cromwell, CT 06416, or venmo @AndreDoyonFund
